On 21 February 2015, a reception was held in the Consulate General of Pakistan, Los Angeles to inaugurate the new Multi-purpose Community Hall as well as the expanded space of the Consulate (with an additional space of 2000 square feet). Congressman Ed Royce, Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee of the US Congress, was the Chief Guest at the inaugural event. Around 150 guests attended the reception including members of diverse and vibrant Pakistani diaspora on the West Coast, important members of the government of California and representatives of Consular Corps based in Los Angeles. The event was co-hosted by the Council of Pakistani American Affairs, a reputed organization of the Pakistani-American community.
