Celebration of National Day of Pakistan

The National Day of Pakistan was celebrated in California and other parts of the West Coast with traditional zeal and fervor. To commemorate the Pakistan Day, a Flag-hoisting ceremony was organized by the Consulate General of Pakistan Los Angeles.

A significant number of Pakistani-American community members on the West Coast attended the ceremony.

The messages from the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan were read out following the Flag hoisting.

During his remarks on the occasion, Consul General Mr. Asim Ali Khan appreciated the contributions made by the Pakistani-American community and highlighted the need for the community to work together to address the challenges facing the motherland.

The Consul General underscored that Pakistan, besides being the fifth largest country in the world in terms of population, has taken tremendous strides in terms of development since its inception and will remain relevant and integral to the international community despite current challenges.

The Consul General also highlighted the positive role that the Pakistani-American community can play in projecting a positive image of Pakistan abroad, strengthening Pak-U.S. relations and for the economic development of Pakistan.

FBR Employees Can No More Harass Or Blackmail You On Tax Issues!

Federal Tax Ombudsman of Pakistan has established an “Overseas Pakistanis Grievances Redressal Cell” (OPGRC) to redress the grievances of Overseas Pakistanis against the Maladministration of FBR officials. Maladministration on part of Federal Revenue Division or any Federal Tax Employee is defined in Section 2(3) of FTO Ordinance, 2000 which include; 1. Illegal Actions 2. Negligence 3 Inefficiency, Incompetence Repeated Notices unnecessary attendance 3. Unnecessary communications 4. Errors in Refund 5. Non-Payment of Refund 6. Unlawful coercive recovery of tax 7. Removal of difficulties for Pensioners Receiving Pension in Pakistan But Living Abroad. The undersigned is directed to refer to Finance Division SRO(1)2021 dated 28-01-2021 and to state that pensioner(s) receiving pension in Pakistan, who, at times proceed abroad or take up residence abroad, may face stoppage of pension due to non-production of Life Certificate or non-carrying out biometric verification.
