Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh Attends Youm-e-Tashakur Event Hosted by Friends of Pakistan (FOP) in Los Angeles

Ambassador of Pakistan to the United States, H.E. Mr. Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, attended a special event organized by Friends of Pakistan (FOP) in Los Angeles on May 17 2025 to commemorate Youm-e-Tashakur (Day of Gratitude).

The event was attended by a large gathering of Pakistani-American community members from across California and Nevada. The attendees warmly welcomed the Ambassador and appreciated the efforts of FOP in advocating for the interests of the Pakistani-American community.

In his remarks, Ambassador Sheikh expressed gratitude to Friends of Pakistan and the broader community for organizing the event. He underlined the vital role played by the Pakistani-American diaspora in strengthening Pakistan-U.S. relations and acknowledged their outstanding contributions in diverse sectors such as business, science and technology, education, and culture.

The Ambassador also spoke about the valor displayed by the Armed Forces of Pakistan during the recent conflict with India, referring to it as Marka-e-Haq. He praised the courage and professionalism of the armed forces in defending the homeland and commended the Pakistani-American community for their unwavering support during the hostilities. He noted that Youm-e-Tashakur is a symbol of national pride, dignity, and unity.

Ambassador Sheikh appreciated the proactive efforts of the U.S. Government in facilitating the recent ceasefire and acknowledged its constructive engagement toward the peaceful resolution of the longstanding Jammu and Kashmir dispute.

During the event, Ambassador Sheikh also engaged with community members and discussed ideas to further enhance bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and the United States, particularly in the areas of economy, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.

The event was marked by national zeal and fervor.
